Monday Night Massacre: Five Games, Five Knives, One Bad Knee
Burn-Book Digest · Week 6 · 2026 · Oct 21, 2026Forget the early slate — Week 6 was decided in prime time, and the football gods were in a mood. Four of five games came down to the last snap on Monday, and by the time the smoke cleared we had heartbreak, heroics, and at least one guy who should sue his tight end for emotional damages.
Start in the Game of the Week, where Crock carried a measly 3-point cushion into Monday night and needed Christian McCaffrey to out-duel Chengy's George Kittle. CMC didn't just win the argument, he ended it — 30.7 to Kittle's 17.9 — and Crock skated home 110.9-94.7. Chengy, meanwhile, got buried by his own star: Patrick Mahomes turned in a pedestrian 10.5 on a 23.3 projection. That's not a loss, that's a eulogy.
Now the gut-punch of the week. Dez needed roughly 7 points from Terry McLaurin to beat Meek — and McLaurin went down with a season-ending knee injury in the first quarter, limping to 3.7 points on a 12.65 projection. Dez fell 160.1-163.4 in a game lost to bad luck, not bad lineups. Meek, who played the whole week without injured Deebo Samuel, didn't need the sympathy — Tyler Shough dropped a ridiculous 33.0 points to bail him out, while Derrick Henry no-showed with 5.0 on a 19.3 projection. Shough carried; Henry ghosted.
Over in the Thursday-to-Monday thriller, Beav got a monster surprise from Rachaad White (15.7 points on a 10.66 projection) and it still wasn't enough — Crawf held on 138.0-137.2, the kind of margin that makes you want to throw your remote. Kyren Williams didn't help Beav's cause either, flatlining at 9.7 against a 21.6 projection. Death by 0.8 points and a sleepy running back — rough.
The London game had its own Monday-night gut-check: Mike Evans was torching Marcus's comeback hopes with 94 first-half receiving yards before an Achilles injury ended his night early, finishing at 12.4. The rally died with him, and Marcus fell 116.8-127.0 to Devion, who got 29.8 points out of Drake Maye and never looked back. Marcus's Kenneth Walker III (29.9) balled out in a losing effort — the fantasy equivalent of acing a test in a class you still failed.
And finally, the one game that wasn't close: Manny thumped Frost 129.6-104.6 despite Bijan Robinson no-showing at 7.3 points on a 24.0 projection and playing the week without injured Quinshon Judkins. Didn't matter — when you're up by 25, even your bust can't blow it. Book it as the week's only laugher in a slate full of nail-biters.
