Frost vs Crawf — Week 1

Eleven meetings. Two wins for Frost. Nine for Crawf. If this were boxing, they'd have stopped it years ago — but the schedule-maker doesn't care about mercy rules, so here we go again in Week 1, with both squads bringing fresh draft capital to a rivalry that's badly needed a plot twist.

On paper, Crawf's BELT BOYZ edge it, projecting 180.9 points to Trap House's 175.3 — and it's not hard to see why. Lamb and Jefferson give Crawf a true alpha-WR duo, and the Caleb Williams/Trevor Lawrence QB depth chart looks less like a roster and more like a hedge fund. Frost counters with arguably the juicier storyline: Stafford-to-Nacua is a proven connection after Nacua's monster '25 (363 points, 21.4 ppg), and Drake London gives Frost a second true target. But both Jeanty and Hall are carrying QUESTIONABLE tags into the opener, which is the kind of RB injury cloud that turns "stacked backfield" into "bench-and-pray."

Crawf isn't fully clean either — Tuten and Burden both show questionable, and Jonathon Brooks is a total mystery box with zero last-season data to lean on. So maybe the numbers favor Crawf, but the medical tent favors nobody.

My purely-opinion prediction: I think this one's closer than the head-to-head history suggests. Frost's title pedigree (that lone 2018 ring still counts, folks) and a healthy Nacua could be enough to finally put a dent in Crawf's stranglehold. But if I'm forced to bet the mortgage, the receiver room in Minneapolis and Dallas jerseys probably outscores the recovery room in Vegas and New York. Book it as a nail-biter — book it as Crawf 3-and-1 all-time-adjacent, but don't be shocked if Frost finally breaks through.

Marcus vs Chengy — Week 1

The defending champ opens his title defense against the one man who's never beaten him — Chengy is 0-2 lifetime versus Marcus, and on paper, Week 1 isn't exactly begging for revenge. Milk Merchant projects out at a robust 197.5 points behind a Lamar Jackson/Jahmyr Gibbs top of the lineup that reads like a cheat code, with Justin Herbert somehow still on the bench mattering as a QB2 flex. That's the luxury of being the guy with the ring.

Chengy's Happy Endings crew checks in lower at 168.9 projected, but don't sleep on Jaxson Dart, who's quietly this matchup's single highest individual projection at 21.6 — if that hits, it's the one thread that could unravel Marcus's math. Jonathan Taylor and De'Von Achane give Chengy a real backfield gut-punch too, it's just that Marcus's whole roster is loaded top to bottom while Chengy's is more top-heavy hope.

The real subplot here: Marcus is chasing his first title defense ever, and Chengy is still hunting his first ring of any kind after nine seasons in this league. Zay Flowers, Rome Odunze, and Mike Evans all carry questionable tags for Marcus, so there's a crack in the armor if Chengy's studs go nuclear. My money (which is fake, and this is just an opinion) says Marcus makes it 3-0 in the series — but if Dart cooks and those Baltimore/Chicago receivers sit banged up, Chengy could finally get that monkey off his back on opening night.

Beav vs Devion — Week 1

Four wins to three, Beav owns the head-to-head over Devion, and Week 1 gives Devion a shot at revenge with a roster the projections say is actually the better one on paper. Slime SZN's 173.1 projected total edges out Slauson Super Mall's 169.0, with Drake Maye (22.3 proj) and James Cook III (17.2) fronting a core that also got 2025's #2 seed — before a playoff flameout down to finish 4th. That's the Devion story in a nutshell: brilliant regular seasons, heartbreak when it counts, three runner-up finishes and still no ring to show for it.

Beav, meanwhile, is coming off a five-win, dead-last-finish disaster season and answered by grabbing Josh Allen at 25.1 proj ppg — the single best number on either roster — plus a stacked Amon-Ra/Saquon/Ladd McConkey trio underneath him. On paper Devion's depth wins the math, but if Allen plays like a top-five arm every single week, Beav's ceiling could blow the projections up. Watch the injury designations too: Beav's Tyler Warren and Carnell Tate are both questionable, and Devion's counting on questionable tags from Jeremiyah Love and Emeka Egbuka to clear — this one could get decided by Friday's inactive lists as much as Sunday's box score.

My honest, purely-opinion take: Devion's the "smarter" roster and the numbers back it, but Beav's got the head-to-head swagger and the highest single game-breaker on the field in Allen. I'll call it a nail-biter that Devion probably wins on paper — and Beav probably wins anyway, because that's just how this rivalry seems to go.

Crock vs Meek — Week 1

Nine years, twenty meetings, and Meek still owns this rivalry like a landlord — 14-6 in the head-to-head ledger, and that's before we even get to Week 1 of 2026. Crock brings two championship banners (2019, 2022) into this one, but banners don't cover blown matchups, and Meek's lone ring (2021) has clearly come with a permanent chip on the shoulder against this particular opponent.

On paper, Meek's got the juice: 172.8 projected points to Crock's 166.8, powered by Jalen Hurts and Ja'Marr Chase running mirror-image to Crock's Dak Prescott and Christian McCaffrey. Funny enough, both squads are nursing the exact same headache — Chase is questionable for Meek, McCaffrey's questionable for Crock, so whichever RB1/WR1 duo actually suits up healthy could decide who's 1-0 by Sunday night. Trey McBride and Derrick Henry give Meek a steadier floor underneath, while Crock is banking on Garrett Wilson bouncing back from a genuinely brutal 5.9 ppg 2025 to justify that WR3 price tag.

My completely unqualified opinion: the projections and the history are both whispering "Meek" here, and I'm inclined to believe them — call it Heel Turn by a field goal, with Crock's ceiling (if McCaffrey plays) as the one thing that could blow this pick up in my face. Book emblazons Crock's motto is "We Know The Truth," but against Meek, the truth has mostly hurt.

UPDATE: Word from the group chat — Meek called GG on Crock barely five minutes after the draft wrapped, before a single snap of the 2026 season. Bold. Nefarious, even. Now we sit back and see whether the fantasy gods reward that kind of hubris or make a Week 1 example out of him.

Dez vs Manny — Week 1

Eight meetings, four wins apiece — this rivalry has never needed a trophy to feel like one. Now add the subplot: Dez is fresh off a 3-11 faceplant that ended in the cellar (finish 7, dead last in the standings), while Manny somehow parlayed a 5-9 regular season into a runner-up finish last year. One guy's trying to prove last season was a fluke, the other's trying to prove it wasn't.

On paper, this one tilts toward Mamba's. Dez's projected 194.5 team total outpaces Manny's 175.8, and the "Get the GAT" side is leaning hard on Joe Burrow (23.4 proj) and Bijan Robinson (21.5) to be the engine — after Burrow's real 2025 was a rough 9.8 ppg limping through 15 games. Dez, meanwhile, is stacking two intriguing passer projections in Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix, plus a JSN who actually backed up his price tag with a 21.4 ppg season. If Nabers and LaPorta shake off their questionable tags, that WR/TE depth could make this a laugher.

But projections are just spreadsheets talking, and Manny's the only guy in this matchup with a ring (2017) — he knows how to win when it isn't supposed to be pretty. My money, purely as a guy who likes drama: Dez's projected firepower gets him a Week 1 statement win, but don't be shocked if Bijan and a Burrow bounce-back make it closer than the numbers suggest. Book it — or don't, this is just talk.
