The storySince 2017, Chengy has been the definition of fantasy football purgatory — not bad enough to be a punchline, not good enough to be a problem. But this is fantasy football, so of course there's a floor too. A 62.7-point no-show back in 2017 Week 6 remains the kind of week you don't talk about at Thanksgiving. And then there's 2021 Week 2 — a 100.3-point beatdown at the hands of Dez that's less "loss" and more "crime scene." The redemption arc came in 2024, when Chengy dropped a 104-point demolition on Meek, proving revenge (on someone else entirely) is a dish best served with a triple-digit margin.
No origin story here is complete without DT. An 0-8 record against DT isn't a rivalry, it's a hostage situation — somehow the one name Chengy has never solved across nine years of trying. The mood brightens considerably against Beav, though, where Chengy sits a cozy 7-1, the go-to appetizer whenever the schedule needed a confidence boost.
The luck report reads almost insultingly fair: 74 actual wins against 71.2 expected, officially labeled "about right" — no robbery, no charity, just a franchise that's earned exactly the mediocrity it's gotten. Team names came and went (RIP "Lil Penis Husstled Gang," never forget "Demi is On Meth"), but the core identity stuck around as "Happy Endings" — a name that, after nine ringless years, is starting to feel like the setup to its own punchline.
Right now, Chengy's lore status is "lovable tape-measure guy" — never the champion, never the doormat, always just there, hovering around .500, occasionally exploding for 200+ points before disappearing for a bye week's worth of quiet. The AJ Brown and Tyreek Hill trade combo (over 1,150 combined points) proves the roster-building instincts are sound. The trophy case, sadly, remains theoretical.
