The storyNine seasons, two banners, and enough whiplash to require a neck brace — that's the Crock experience in this league. From 2017 to 2025, this roster has bounced between penthouse and basement so many times you'd think the elevator was broken, but somehow it kept landing on a trophy often enough to matter.
The valleys were real. 2018 gets the crown jewel of irony: a team literally named "Grand Champion" limped to 3-10, dead-last seed, and an 8th-place finish. That's not a typo, that's poetry. Crock shook it off though, because a year later the Los Angeles Nippers went 9-4, claimed the No. 1 seed, and closed the deal for the 2019 title. Three years after that, the rebrand to Nipsey Huslers delivered ring number two — 10-4, top seed, champion again in 2022. Then, because balance is the law of this league, 2024 crashed the party with a 4-10, finish-10 faceplant, followed immediately by a 10-4 bounce-back in 2025 that somehow only netted a 5th-place finish. Crock doesn't do "quiet" seasons.
The numbers even out almost too perfectly — 76-73 all-time, 19,343 points scored against 19,378 allowed, basically a coin flip across nine years. The luck report backs it up: an all-play record of 674-667 and an expected-win total of 74.9 against an actual 76 wins. Verdict: "about right." No robbery, no charity — Crock earned every inch of this rollercoaster.
The rivalry ledger tells its own story. Devion has been the house Crock can't beat, a brutal 4-10 record that reads like a recurring nightmare. But flip the page and there's France, reduced to a personal appetizer — a flawless 5-0. Somewhere in between sits the single worst gut-punch of the whole run: a 124.5-point beatdown at the hands of Dez in 2021, a defeat so lopsided it deserves its own paragraph in the loss column of shame. Compare that to the 93.4-point demolition of AJ back in the 2019 title year, and you get the full emotional spectrum of Crock's career in two data points.
Through it all, one name carried the load: Christian McCaffrey, 70 starts and 1,759.3 points of pure workhorse production, the engine behind both championship runs. The quarterback room, meanwhile, looked like a revolving door of premium arms — Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Kyler Murray all took turns steering the ship, proof Crock was never afraid to chase the next big arm rather than get comfortable.
Two titles, one epic last-place humiliation, a near-perfectly balanced ledger, and a scoreboard that always seems to find the extremes — that's where Crock sits in league lore right now: not the most consistent, never boring, and always just one good draft away from ring number three.
